I'd like to think I'll decorate like this...

My darling friend, Krista, suggested on her blog that I take a design quiz. Well, now I'm suggesting to you to do the same thing. It was really fun, and I've been enlightened as to which design style I'm most drawn:

It's called "French Eclectic."

But may I clarify that just because they say I'm "French Eclectic," does not mean I actually decorate like this. Ha! In my dreams do I decorate like this. I'm still living off my college apartment art I bought at the campus poster art sale, and the balding, fake, potted plant from IKEA. Someday, I'll try and decorate like these surrounding pictures.

Technically, I'm a combination of 38% French Eclectic, 38% Cottage Chic and 24% Classic. But I guess they're calling it French Eclectic.

Here is their description: "Parlez-vous français? Even if the answer is no, you can confidently say your home does! French Country, like its name, somehow manages to both be formal and casual, classy and unassuming at the same time. You like your spaces to feel inviting from the moment you (or your guest) opens the front door and this feeling should continue even after you've entered your most formal room. Even though there are French antiques here and gold details there, the rustic elements provide a balance and warmth that seems to say, "come in, relax and stay a while." Your love of antiques leads you to flea markets, garage sales and hours of eBay hunting."

Okay, so I don't think I've ever spent hours on eBay surfing for antiques, but I like that they think that of me! Ha! I guess I could say I love a good flea market. So, now you know a little bit more about me. What is your design style? Find out here, then share it with me - I'm super curious now!

  1. My results were pretty accurate!

    Traditional Country
Even if your backyard isn't acres of farmland and you don't actually have a chicken coop, your house sure brings you back to a time when that was the case. You love spaces that feel casual and lived in. Furniture is practical and comfortable, and yet at the same time its very stylish. The best part of country style is how much it highlights collection and found objects. Antiques here, garage sale finds there and Aunt Milly's hand-me-downs throughout. Unique items that used to serve very practical purposes are now on display, and their history seems to permeate the home. Each space in the home seems to invite friends and family to come in and stay a while. There is a true sense of home felt throughout.

  2. I just took it! I'm a combination of rustic revival and french eclectic. Oh how I love quizzes...

  3. I took the quiz (during class, shame on me). yay!

  4. Love it! Thanks for sharing you three!

  5. That was fun! Mine is 46% contemporary, 31% Cottage chic and 23% Zen style. :o)

Tut mir leid, dass ich Deine Schwestern verwechselt habe. Das war mir etwas peinlich! Ich hoffe, Du bist mir nicht böse.

  6. It's entirely possible my original comment never sent, so I'll say it again (don't post them both, if it did, Ash!):

Ooooo French Eclectic! I like it. If only we could actually decorate our houses the way rooms we like are decorated. If only.

  7. I'm 50/50 Cottage Chic and Rustic Revival, which makes it sound like I'm going to call a camp meeting on reviving rustic living room designs. I do like the cottage chic description:

"You love the carefree spirit that the cottage interior inspires, but you are also serious about your appreciation for modern art and hip treasures."

  8. That was way fun Ash. I am 60% contemporary (not very well rounded, eh?) and 20% zen style and 20% rustic revival. Which actually is a great description of me. Thanks. It was way fun.
